Hello, everyone! I hate doing technical stuff on the back-end of my site… but I think I am mostly done now. This site was originally thrown together as an afterthought when I started this series. Even though I am using Toocheke, a WordPress plug-in for web comics, I was literally using none of the Toocheke features. Every episode of Real Superheroines was uploaded here as a blog post, not even as a comic or manga.
Few reasons for the change. One, is so I can track my analytics better. The way I had the site designed, 40 page views a day could actually be 2000-3000 panels read since every chapter was thrown onto a single post.
Second, Toocheke has some built-in promotion tools using Comic Scout. I have no idea if that is something that actually will help drive traffic, but it can’t hurt to sign up. More grunt work for me to do.
Third, I am going to discontinue the Real Superheroines LIVE page and fold it into this site. So, five days a week will be a new post with the latest comic panel along with commentary and accompanying video. And, hopefully, right under that will be a link to the latest chapter (and I BELIEVE that the Toocheke reader will automatically launch to the last page that you read in case you can’t log in daily–I can’t test that because I’ve read all of the everything).
At least, that’s my plan.
There will still be a delay (a week?) before I start the next episode, as I am in the process of ret-conning The Spectre out of the series. As it turns out, he never signed his release form. Also, he is not actually a public domain character until 2030. Episode 3 is completed if you want to go back and read all about Fantomah meeting the mysterious and powerful character, The Wraith. (Liberty Belle also needs to be replaced with Lady Liberty). Please feel free to read the entire series from the beginning, play around with the Toocheke reader, let me know if I am missing any panels anywhere, because I’ve been grinding on this keyboard for the past four hours and nothing makes sense to me anymore.
